About us

The New Flying Competition is part of the registered association Neues Fliegen e.V. which was founded in 2014 by a group of students at the Department for Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg in Germany.
The main interest of the association lies in researching new aircraft configurations and their technical implementations. Furthermore, the advantages and downsides of new ideas should be examined for their best economic and ecological implementation.

What is the New Flying Competition?

The New Flying Competition is an international scientific model flying competition with the goal of bringing new and innovative ideas to the aviation sector and improving the future of flying. In October 2016 the competition took place for the first time. Universities from all over the world participated in it. It was followed by two successfull contests in 2018 and 2020 and the next one is already being planned.

All the teams will work on the same task, that is created by our student team and a jury of industry representatives. The task is to develop concepts and solutions involving the future of civil aircraft technology and turning them into reality. During the competition, teams will present their final model concepts and show off their flying skills.

By taking part in the New Flying Competition you will have the unique opportunity to connect with aviation ethusiasts from all over the world. Furthermore, your team will get to know our partners in the aviation industry and you may even win a possible prize money.
